Factory door - racism?

I have never had a problem there.

Fortunately I have never been denied entrance to any venue around the world, or in the USA. I wonder: why would one want to go into a venue where they are not welcomed? I would also wonder: what is it about one's presentation or demeanor that would keep me out? Was I too smelley? was I too drunk? was I not dressed properly? Why did they not want me there? When I travel abroad I use my passport for entry into any venue requiring ID, and 99% of the time cover charge is waived for me. I would not automatically charge discrimination. I would realize it is a private business and they can pick and choose whomever they want in their club. I would find another place to spend my money.

The door at Factory obviously does not only check age and appearance but also the degree of "assimilation". Shame on you! But I'm not discouraged as I am pretty sure that the vast majority of Californians disapproves your mentality. Have a nice day!

Don't go there anymore. There are other places around town that won't trouble you. Their loss.

why scream discrimination? Have you considered it just might be Calif Law? Depending on how long you have been in Calif, best not get caught driving with a foreign drivers license. Use your passport to get into clubs. I travel all over the world and have never thought of using my USA drivers license to get into a club. I always use my passport. The best ID on the planet.

I have been visiting West Hollywood on multiple occasions. Yes, I have been to Factory many times. Yes, I have always managed to get in. The same with any other clubs/bars in WeHo. But last time it was different. I love electronic music, so I had planned well in advance to go to Factory last Saturday (2 Jan 10). As on most occasions, I used my driver's licence as ID. Was accepted at Factory on NYE, was accepted at the Abbey last Friday. But this time, the guy at the Factory door had a look at my driver's licence and noticed that it was not issued by a US authority. He was right. It's driver's licence issued in Germany. By a German authority. It includes a pic and the date of birth. Enough to check m age and ID. But he said he could not accept this, as it was not issued by a US authority, I needed a US ID! I said that I had no US ID - I was visiting! I said that I always use this driver's licence as ID and never had a problem... He said that he was the general manager and that he would not accept this. I asked if the club would not be for foreigners? He denied but failed to explain how I could get in... I finally left... Anyone experienced such behavior at this door?
